90000 pounds stood in way of Malik’s selection

Former Pakistan captain, Shoaib Malik failed to get himself a place in Pakistan’s preliminary World Cup squad announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board on January 4.

 

Although, the cricket board didn’t give any reasons for non-selection of Shoaib Malik and leg-spinner Danish Kaneria but The Sports Encounter(A sports  Website) claimed  that during the meeting of integrity committee of PCB, Malik failed to give answer regarding 90000 UK pounds in his bank account.

It is important to mention here that former skipper Shoaib Malik, despite of scoring over 700 runs in the domestic Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, has failed to force PCB selectors to include him the World Cup probables as clouds of match fixing have also put him under the ICC’s scanner.
